The annual event returns on December 2 and 3 in Historic Biltmore Village (within walking distance of The Residences at Biltmore!), complete with carolers, dancers, mimes, jugglers, and other outdoor performers that evoke the spirit of a Charles Dickens-era Christmas. Online reservations are not required for Candlelight Evenings, but they are strongly suggested, as admission is timed and spots quickly sell out. The exhibit runs through February 20, 2023. The cost is included with some of the admission packages for the Candlelight experience. Described as “the world’s most comprehensive and thrilling Leonardo da Vinci experience,” the exhibit shines a spotlight on the works of the inventor, artist, and philosopher. This year’s nights at Biltmore are especially magnificent, as the multi-sensory Leonardo da Vinci - 500 Years of Genius is currently on display as part of the immersive artist shows Biltmore has hosted over the past year. Twinkling lights hang about the estate and grounds, giving the enormous property an almost ethereal glow. The lights in the house are dimmed, and candles, tree lights, and fireplaces throughout the home emit a cozy, soft glow. It’s a wonderful time to delight in the lights, shopping, small town holiday displays, and impressive mountain views with the whole family. They have the one large tree in front of the house lit, all white, and that is about it. And, at night, they do have many of the main fireplaces going.įrom the exterior, it is not like going and looking at Christmas lights. And there was a harp player up on the third floor. So, even during the day, one can get some appreciation for the all the christmas trees and lights.Īt night, they do have a choir in the main area as you enter. It is not like there are large windows with tons of natural light. it is all modern electric christmas tree lights, and they are lit up all day as well. ![]() To be honest, there is not that much more lit up at night. We quickly toured the main areas when we first arrived, and then went back after supper for the Christmas Candlelight. If it is a Christmas thing you are looking for, then a Candlelight Tour would be the thing to do. If you are really into the house, as in Museum (which it certainly is!!! Vanderbilt was a collector of now priceless pieces!), then the daytime tour with the audio-guide would be necessary!
